Setup Technician

Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot extruders, wrapping and winding equipment, braiding machines, and test/measurement devices
• Interpret setup sheets, work instructions, and engineering drawings to ensure accurate production
• Assist in developing setup and processing documentation for newly introduced products
• Perform minor to moderate preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Track and record process data, quality inspection results, and equipment performance metrics
• Work collaboratively with team members to support process improvements, product development, and troubleshooting efforts
• Support cross-functional activities as required, including inventory management, material staging, and quality documentation support

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment as a setup or maintenance technician.
• Proficiency with mechanical or electromechanical equipment-experience with extruders, braiders, or winding/wrapping machines is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and take ownership and responsibility of work orders to perform job setups and production runs
• Comfortable with measurement tools and equipment for testing and in-process monitoring
• Strong mathematical aptitude required - you'll use decimals, fractions, basic algebra/trigonometry daily for setting up equipment, calculating dimensions, tolerances, run rates, and inspection metrics
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including consistently standing for extended periods and safely lifting 35 lbs., up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Forklift certification (past or current) and experience using common warehouse tools (pallet jack, etc) is preferred.
• Experience with QC inspection, CNC machining, CAD work and/or maintenance would be a big plus.
