CSM Tile Co., Inc. is a growing commercial flooring contractor seeking a Full-Charge Construction Bookkeeper & Accounting Manager to take full ownership of all accounting, finance, payroll and HR functions for the company. This is a senior, high-responsibility role for a construction accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and takes pride in accuracy, accountability, and process excellence.
This position is critical to the success of our operations and works closely with ownership, project managers, estimators, and field leadership.
Position Overview
The Full-Charge Construction Bookkeeper & Accounting Manager is responsible for end-to-end financial management across multiple commercial construction projects and company operations. This role oversees financial management and accounting for multiple projects, organizing and maintaining project and company finances, financial & income statements, month-end closings, chart of accounts, work in process, journal entries, equipment expenses, job cost tracking & updating, invoices, payables, receivables, manage banking, bank reconciliations, payroll, taxes, all reporting, employee benefits & insurance and internal controls while helping CSM Tile scale in a structured and disciplined way.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Assume full responsibility for all company financial functions and accounting operations.
- Maintain the general ledger, journal entries, chart of accounts, and job cost structures.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate financial and income statements for leadership.
- Track work-in-process (WIP), labor, equipment, and project-related expenses.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction accounting best practices.
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management
- Oversee all accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Manage vendor accounts, invoices, payments, and reconciliations.
- Track deposits, receipts, and outstanding balances.
- Manage banking relationships, cash flow, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with bonding and financial documentation as required.
Payroll, Compliance & Benefits
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including certified payroll.
- Manage payroll taxes, benefits, retirement plans, and insurance reporting.
- Coordinate timecards and payroll approvals with project management staff.
- Maintain compliance with public works and prevailing wage requirements.
Billing & Project Support
- Prepare and support AIA billings, lien waivers, and notarize documents.
- Support project managers with billing and financial documentation.
- Set up new projects across all required systems and platforms.
Systems, Controls & Team Leadership
- Develop, improve, and enforce accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
- Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, schedules, and reports.
- Hire, train, and manage additional accounting staff as the company grows.
- Maintain continuous education and awareness of CFMA, CPA, and GAAP standards.
- Maintain & create SOP’s relating to this position

Qualifications
- Accounting or bookkeeping education is preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably with a commercial subcontractor or general contractor; candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
- CFMA certification is a plus.
- Strong experience with construction accounting software (Foundation Software preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
- Demonstrated experience with AIA billing, lien waivers, certified payroll, and job costing.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive compensation (hourly or salaried), based on experience and qualifications.
- Comprehensive benefits package, including:
- $55,000 – $75,000 per year, depending on experience
