Position Summary

Support accounting management through assisting in preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and/or internal operating needs, formulation of internal controls, and leads cost accounting activities. The position will additionally assist with budgets, forecasting, financial and operational analysis, manage journal entries, and ensure compliance. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Manage daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.

Review and enter credit memos and reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable.

Lead cost accounting efforts to support pricing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

Review and audit tire D/R transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Review and upload transactions into the general ledger from supporting systems (e.g., Concur, Fullbay).

Conduct cycle counts of inventory parts and assist in evaluating inventory variances.

Assist with budget development and forecasting initiatives.

Analyze financial and nonfinancial data to support business decisions and identify trends.

Assist the Controller in establishing, maintaining, and improving internal controls.

Supervise, review, and mentor Staff Accountants and Accounting/Finance Specialists, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal control standards.

Support monthend and yearend close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Collaborate crossfunctionally with operations, finance, and other departments to support reporting and planning.

Maintain predictable and regular attendance.

Perform other site- or position-specific duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

Professional certification (CPA or similar) preferred but not required.

Three or more years of progressive accounting experience.

Proven experience in cost accounting and broader financial operations.

Strong understanding of billing, receivables, payables, and general ledger processes.

Experience managing or mentoring staff.

Ability to work within the timeframes of standard policies and procedures.

Proven ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive company and employee information.

High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Concur or Fullbay is a plus.

Ability to display extraordinary discretion, confidentiality, flexibility, and a collaborative approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain a professional, courteous demeanor.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong facilitation, coordination, planning, and organizational skills.

Ability to lead and motivate others to achieve objectives.

The work environment is mostly an indoor office environment with up to a quarter of the time spent outside on transport yard, repair shop, or other area for observation of inventory/assets or communication with employees and management of operating companies.
