Introduction
Our client is a privately owned, full-service veterinary hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team. The hospital primarily sees cats and dogs but would be open to welcoming exotics if the doctor has prior experience.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday 8am-8pm, Tuesday 8am-5pm, Wednesday 8am-5pm, Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday 8am-5pm, and Saturday 8am-1pm. Appointments begin at 9am with a scheduled break from 12:30-2pm. There is flexibility for doctors to structure their schedules with one long day per week in exchange for a half day during the week. The position can be full or part-time. Full-time doctors typically work four days per week, with every other Saturday included as one of those four days. Part-time doctors are asked to commit to at least two days per week.
Role Description and Responsibilities
This role encompasses the full scope of small animal general practice, including internal medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. The hospital would welcome doctors with interests in offering additional services such as holistic medicine, rehabilitation etc. Doctors with a particular interest in surgery may take on up to two designated surgery days, while those who prefer to focus on other areas of practice have the option to forgo surgical responsibilities. The position is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with mentorship available across all areas of small animal medicine.
Practice Details
The hospital has been privately owned and operated for 65 years and has been AAHA accredited for 57 of those years. It is also Certified Cat Friendly. Facilities include nine exam rooms, with two exclusively for cats, and a large, modern surgery suite. Equipment includes digital x-ray, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, full in-house IDEXX labs, and electronic medical records with Cornerstone. The practice offers comprehensive general practice services within a supportive and well-equipped environment.
Team
The hospital is home to five doctors with varying levels of experience who work collaboratively, encouraging input from all team members on challenging cases. Each doctor is supported by two assigned medical staff members, including an LVT and an advanced veterinary assistant. Additional support is provided by a dedicated laboratory technician and an outpatient assistant, ensuring strong clinical and administrative backing.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
