Operations Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Estimators
• Oversee projects from initial estimate through closeout, ensuring schedules, budgets, and margin targets are achieved
• Prepare high-level estimates and manage the regional estimating pipeline
• Own the operations budget and drive overall branch financial performance
• Collaborate with Sales to support growth initiatives and new business pursuits
• Establish and maintain strong subcontractor and vendor partnerships
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings focused on performance, development, and KPIs
• Champion a customer-first mindset and lead efforts to maintain 90%+ Net Promoter Score
• Track industry trends and implement operational best practices
• Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with company objectives
• Step in to manage or estimate projects as needed to support workload demands

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related discipline
• 8+ years of experience in commercial painting or commercial construction
• 3-5 years of leadership experience managing mid-sized operations or sales teams
• Strong expertise in commercial coatings, estimating, subcontractor management, and field operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
• Experience with Salesforce and project management software preferred
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel 25-50% throughout Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia
