Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Chef to join our growing team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role serves as the right hand to our Chef Manager, helping lead daily kitchen operations while delivering consistently high-quality food. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen environment that combines high-volume prep and line cooking with off-site catering and special events.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Line Cook, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Lead looking to take the next step in their culinary career.

Key Responsibilities

• Kitchen Leadership: Support the Chef Manager with daily kitchen operations, prep execution, and station readiness
• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook appetizers, entrées, and desserts with consistency and attention to detail
• Catering & Events: Lead catering setup, manage food presentation, and provide professional service during off-site events
• Quality & Safety: Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, plating, and flavor profiles
• Team Support: Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen (Line Cook, Sous Chef, Kitchen Lead, or similar role)
• Ability to work 32+ hours per week, including evenings and weekends as required by event schedules
• Strong multitasking and communication skills
• Passion for hospitality and a polished, professional presence when interacting with guests
