Otterbeck Builders Inc is hiring a Project Manager to oversee day-to-day construction operations across multiple residential remodeling projects in the Capital Region. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges the field and the officecoordinating crews, managing quality and safety standards, prepping new projects, and ensuring clear communication with customers and team members. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the go-to point of contact for lead carpenters, carpenters, subcontractors and customers.
Manage crew assignments, scheduling, and response to call-outs or sick days.
Oversee and document jobsite safety and quality control protocols.
Coordinate and conduct all on-site inspections and customer walk-throughs.
Prepare materials take-offs and place orders with lumber yards and vendors.
Ensure job sites are prepared and ready for first-day starts (floor protection, signage, trailers).
Maintain and review project documentation (bluebooks, punch lists, time clocks).
Mentor carpenters in the field, providing training and feedback.
Foster positive morale and communication within the crew.
Lead weekly Friday project meetings with field staff (material planning, project reviews).
Track and manage tools and inventory on each job site.
Review receipts, extras, and billing details with internal staff.
Occasionally heavy lifting or loading of products.
Write up and track extra work orders in coordination with the sales team.
Conduct dump trailer inspections and coordinate service needs.
Minimum 6 years of experience in residential construction, including supervisory or project coordination roles.
Deep understanding of construction building codes/methods, safety practices, and quality standards.
Strong organizational and leadership skills with a focus on mentoring others.
Comfortable managing both field and office responsibilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and familiarity with the Capital Region job market.

Typical hours: 7:30 AM 4:00 PM (may vary based on project needs)
This is a field/office hybrid position, with time split between the main office and job sites across the Capital Region of New York (Albany, Rensselaer, and surrounding counties). Travel to job sites is required.
