Your Mission

As a Level I Tooling & Machining Technician, you will perform foundational machining and toolroom support tasks that keep production running smoothly. Your work supports the fabrication, maintenance, and preparation of precision parts and tools used across the facility. In this role, you will operate manual machining equipment, follow drawings and work instructions, maintain accurate part quality, and contribute to a safe, organized shop environment — ultimately helping us deliver products that Make People Safer, Healthier, and More Productive.

This is an excellent entry point for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, mechanical tasks, and working in a skilled trade environment.

What You’ll Do – Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under close supervision and within established guidelines, you will:

  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and required PPE guidelines.
  • Perform basic machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, turning, and deburring.
  • Operate manual machine shop equipment according to established work instructions.
  • Assist with basic machine setup and tool preparation.
  • Report defective materials, irregularities, or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
  • Follow all prescribed quality and documentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Support daily production activities as assigned.
  • Take pride in craftsmanship and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Always prioritize safety above all else and actively demonstrate safe practices in every task. Follow all safety procedures, proactively report unsafe situations, and wear the required PPE.
  • Lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment and encourage your co-workers to do the same.
  • Basic understanding of machining operations and mechanical processes.
  • Able to read and interpret simple drawings and work instructions.
  • Familiar with basic shop math.
  • Comfortable using basic measuring tools.
  • Good verbal and written communication

Desired Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, vocational training desired.
  • At least 6 months of prior experience in a factory machine shop.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Alternate education and experience considered based on the individual candidate

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills required for documentation and training.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements:

  • Manufacturing Machine Shop – Injection Molding
  • PPE required.
  • Standing most of the shift; occasional sitting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, repetitively at times.
  • Work is performed in a clean, manufacturing environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.
