Job Summary:?
This role provides hands-on support for daily HR operations, including onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. It serves as a key point of contact for employees while helping maintain accurate records, support HR programs, and promote a positive workplace culture.
As a Human Resources Generalist, You Will:
- Support administration of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and supplemental benefits
- Assist with annual open enrollment and employee life-change events
- Manage pre-employment processes, including offer letter preparation and pre-employment screenings
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience by coordinating new-hire paperwork and HR system entry
- Coordinate and support the company's drug-free workplace and safety program
- Assist with compliance efforts related to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Conduct audits of HR files, I-9s, and required documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, and related policies
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS while upholding confidentiality standards
- Generate HR reports and metrics as needed to support business and compliance needs
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns, providing timely and professional support
- Promote a positive workplace culture through effective communication and employee engagement initiatives
- Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement efforts
Skills and Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS systems.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with the understanding of the need for confidentiality.
- Ability to solve problems/critical thinking.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Education:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred or minimum of 5 years of experience working with Benefits Administration for large private organizations.
