Setup Technician

Job Summary:
Main focus will be setting up equipment and running production, using tools such as braiders, servers, and inspection instruments.

As a Setup Technician You Will:

• Set up, troubleshoot and run extruders, wrapping and winding machines, braiding machines and test and measurement equipment
• Read and interpret setup sheets, work instructions, and product drawings
• Support the creation of setup sheets/process sheets for newly introduced products
• Perform minor to moderate preventative maintenance tasks on equipment
• Monitor and document process data, quality inspection checks and equipment performance indicators
• Collaborate with staff for process improvements, development and troubleshooting
• Assist in cross-functional tasks as needed, including inventory handling, materials staging, and supporting quality documentation efforts

Skills and Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment as a setup or maintenance technician.
• Proficiency with mechanical or electromechanical equipment-experience with extruders, braiders, or winding/wrapping machines is a plus but not required
• Ability to work independently and take ownership and responsibility of work orders to perform job setups and production runs
• Comfortable with measurement tools and equipment for testing and in-process monitoring
• Strong mathematical aptitude required - you'll use decimals, fractions, basic algebra/trigonometry daily for setting up equipment, calculating dimensions, tolerances, run rates, and inspection metrics
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including consistently standing for extended periods and safely lifting 35 lbs, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Forklift certification (past or current) and experience using common warehouse tools (pallet jack, etc) is preferred.
• Experience with QC inspection, CNC machining, CAD work and/or maintenance would be a big plus.

Education:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent relevant experience
