Granita Grille is seeking a dedicated Assistant Chef to join our family-owned Italian restaurant in Westwood, NJ. As an Assistant Chef, you will have the opportunity to work with our talented culinary team and contribute to crafting memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Menu planning and development
• Ensuring food quality and consistency
• Practicing portion control to minimize waste
• Demonstrating excellent knife skills
• Operating fryers and grills
• Handling food safely and following proper sanitation guidelines
• Preparing ingredients and dishes according to recipe
• Participating in meal preparation and cooking
• Following ServSafe food handling procedures is a plus

Required Skills:

• Experience in food and beverage management
• Knowledge of catering practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in nutrition and meal planning
• Knowledge of ordering and inventory management
• Certification in ServSafe Food Handler or ServSafe Certified

Salary and Benefits:

• Minimum Salary: $59,000.00
• Maximum Salary: $66,000.00
