LEGACY MOTOR CLUB is seeking a Vehicle Dynamics/Simulation Engineer to optimize race car performance through cutting-edge simulation models and data analysis. As a Vehicle Dynamics/Simulation Engineer, you will develop and refine simulation models, analyze vehicle dynamics data, and work closely with race engineers and drivers to improve race car performance. Your expertise will play a critical role in race preparation, setup optimization, and aerodynamic efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Simulation Correlation: Improve model accuracy by validating data against real-world performance and refining predictions.
- Simulation Model Parameterization: Create and refine vehicle and driver model parameterization using data acquired from the track, test rigs, and shop floor measurements.
- Optimization and Experiment Design: Utilize batch runs and design of experiments (DOE) techniques to understand the vehicle performance envelope and find optimal setups.
- Data Analysis & Performance Optimization: Use Python scripting to automate processes and analyze simulation data, optimizing race setups.
- Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) Simulators: Work with DIL simulators to enhance real-world handling and aerodynamic efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Motorsports Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years in motorsports or the automotive industry.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in vehicle dynamics simulation modeling and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, and simulation correlation.
- Experience in Python programming for data analysis and automation.
- Ability to interpret simulation data and translate it into performance improvements.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively with race engineers, drivers, and aerodynamicists to maximize performance.
