Our client is a modern small animal hospital seeking a Lead Veterinarian to guide their growing team. The hospital offers a full range of medical, surgical, and wellness services and is looking for a motivated and experienced veterinarian to take on a leadership role; shaping clinical standards, mentoring associate doctors, and fostering a positive, collaborative team culture.
Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and closed on Sundays. This is a full-time position with flexible scheduling options designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
Role Description and Responsibilities
The Lead Veterinarian will oversee medical operations and provide leadership across all aspects of patient care and clinical performance. Responsibilities include mentoring associate veterinarians, developing and implementing medical protocols, and partnering with hospital leadership to drive clinical excellence and operational success. The role also includes hands-on clinical duties such as performing exams, surgeries, and dental procedures, managing a varied caseload encompassing wellness, diagnostics, and urgent care, and building trusted relationships with clients and the local community. Candidates should have a minimum of three years' clinical experience and a passion for mentorship, collaboration, and delivering exceptional veterinary care.
Practice Details
The hospital provides comprehensive small animal services including urgent care, diagnostics, surgery, dental cleaning and health, vaccinations, puppy and kitten care, specialty surgery, ultrasound, X-rays, and peaceful passing and grief support. The facility is well-equipped with advanced diagnostic including Ultrasound, digital xray and dental digital xray as well as surgical capabilities, including a fully equipped surgical suite and an in-house pharmacy. The hospital emphasizes preventative care, client education, and a supportive, team-oriented environment where innovation and compassionate medicine thrive.
Team
The hospital is home to two veterinarians supported by a skilled and cohesive team of veterinary professionals. The environment is collaborative and growth-focused, designed to encourage teamwork, mentorship, and open communication across all levels of the practice.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
- Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
