Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Mechanical Design Engineer with a leading Automation Solutions provider in the Greater Columbus Area. This role involves developing well-engineered mechanical designs for mechanisms used in automated assembly systems across various industries including life sciences, food & beverage, transportation, consumer products, and energy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts and detailed mechanical designs for automated systems.
  • Execute mechanical detail design projects for sectors such as life sciences and automotive.
  • Collaborate with a team of 10 mechanical design engineers to achieve project goals.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create layout, assembly level, and detail drawings, bills of materials, and specifications.
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design within industrial automation or machine design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D design engineering.
  • Experience with automation design, machine design, pneumatics, and servo drives.
  • Understanding of robot integration, automated equipment, and control logic.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering discipline is preferred.
  • High-level experience can compensate for the absence of a 4-year degree.
  • 2-6 years of automation experience, with a minimum of 2 years in automation mechanical design.

The role is based in an office environment and is not remote. The company offers a large variety of projects, allowing for diverse work experiences and opportunities for growth within different industry sectors, ensuring stability even during industry downturns.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lewis Center, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
