Manufacturing Receiving Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for processing incoming packages and raw materials, verifying accuracy, and updating all information in the inventory management system. This role requires attention to detail, strong computer skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming materials and supplies.

• Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders to ensure accuracy in quantity, part numbers, and condition.

• Record receipts and discrepancies in the inventory management system (e.g., Made2Manage or equivalent).

• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely throughout the facility.

• Deliver all original receiving paperwork to accounting daily.

• Route received materials to proper departments or storage locations.

• Assist with shipping, crating, or material returns as required.

• Provide backup support for shipping, stockroom, and lead clerks as needed.

• Follow all safety and quality procedures while maintaining an organized work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Minimum 2 years of shipping/receiving or related experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Proficient in computer data entry; experience with ERP or MRP systems preferred.

• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.

• Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and scales.

• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely (certification preferred).

• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).

• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Must be able to work Saturday rotations as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 40 lbs without wheels.

• Frequent walking, standing, and bending.

• Primarily indoor manufacturing environment.

• Exposure to moderate noise, temperature variations, and moving equipment.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times.
