Senior Director, Finance (Contract)

Engagement: Open-ended Contract | Immediate Start

Location: Hybrid In Office in Chicago (3 days per week)

How Youll Drive Impact

As Senior Director, Finance , youll be responsible for stabilizing and leading the month-end close across U.S. and Canadian entities while assessing and improving financial processes. Youll serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that drive clarity and accountability across teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the month-end close process across multiple entities (U.S. & Canada) with precision and urgency.

  • Assess current accounting workflows, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvement plans that strengthen controls and streamline operations.

  • Partner closely with offshore accounting teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment.

  • Deliver financial insights and recommendations clearly and confidently to senior leadership.

  • Build trust across finance and business teams through transparency, accountability, and operational excellence.

  • Support audit readiness and compliance requirements across all entities.

About You

Youre a strategic and execution-focused finance leader who thrives in fast-moving environments. You balance technical precision with clear communication and can quickly bring structure, clarity, and confidence to complex finance operations.

Qualifications:

  • Immediate or near-immediate availability for a contract engagement.

  • Proven experience leading multi-entity month-end close processes across U.S. and Canadian operations.

  • Strong understanding of regional accounting standards and compliance frameworks.

  • CPA or CA required; tax advisory experience preferred.

  • Big 4 or audit background highly preferred.

  • Experience managing or partnering with offshore teams.

  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence.

  • Ability to start quickly and operate with minimal ramp-up.
