Radiology Technician - FT40 OPERS Eligible

Daily Responsibilities:

• Perform QC as outlined below
  1. Perform appropriate tube warm up practices
  2. Perform quality control specific to modality (Phantom Imaging and evaluation, cassette cleaning, etc.) 
  3. Work with Field Service Engineer to maintain equipment functionality and image quality
• Apply appropriate radiation safety practices to daily activities
  1. Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) methods to minimize radiation exposure to patients and coworkers
  2. Utilize protective barriers, lead aprons, and shields when possible
  3. Collimate and shield to minimize patient radiation exposure
  4. Participate in data collection for quarterly Radiology Quality Assurance Committee
  5. Always follow the Safe Operating Procedures specific to the equipment
  6. Work closely with the medical physicist to follow ODH (Ohio Department of Health) rules regarding radiation safety practices

Required Skills:

• Excellent intrapersonal skills 
• Maintained BLS certification (Must be maintained while in the position)
• Technologists are required to be registered – 
  1. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists will be the credentialing organization required
• ODH License required
• Proven clinical and didactic capabilities
• Maintain required Continuing Education credits to hold current registration organization membership

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience in imaging and diagnostic medical sonography
• Proficiency in using diagnostic radiography equipment

Salary and Benefits:

• Minimum Hourly Wage: $27.31
• Maximum Hourly Wage: $35.25
