Electrical Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
This is a hands-on, labor-intensive role that requires a strong mechanical and electrical background. The primary responsibility is to repair and maintain a wide range of equipment within a manufacturing environment, and involves troubleshooting, coordinating preventive maintenance, and supporting production needs. Candidates must be comfortable working in conditions that may be hot, dirty, and noisy, and must always remain attentive to safety protocols and training.
Essential Job Functions
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, including monthly safety system checks.
• Assist with equipment installation, changeovers, and emergency repairs.
• Move machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate repair needs.
• Safely move, adjust, and assemble machinery using appropriate tools.
• Collaborate with machine operators and team members to minimize downtime.
• Apply general knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures.
• Must be able to perform duties as assigned by your supervisor.
• Follow all company policies including safety instructions and training.
Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Hands-on skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, plumbing, and welding repairs.
• Able to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Knowledge of compressed air, vacuum, hydraulics, electronic controls, and their systems
• Assist in developing and carrying out preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to root cause analysis.
• Willingness to work rotating nights and weekends.
• Comfortable with ladders and lifts.
Education:
• High school or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
• 3+ years' experience in a skilled trade (e.g., electrical, HVAC, carpentry) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of facility systems and machine building.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Proficient knowledge of computers.
• Machine building knowledge.
Experience:
• Minimum 3 years' mechanical experience
• Minimum 2 years' electrical experience
• Minimum 2 years' fabrication or welding experience
