Job Description
Full-time (or Part-time) Licensed Veterinarian Needed
Our hospital is an AAHA accredited small animal veterinary facility currently located in the South Reno area and we are having a growth spurt!.
We are looking for a licensed and experienced veterinarian to join our team. We are a small animal and exotics medicine practice offering preventative medicine, surgery, dentistry, and emergency/urgent care as well as occasional house calls. We have digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, digital ultrasound, therapeutic laser, and in-house laboratory.
We are also in the process of introducing holistic modalities and functional medicine into our practice, so highly encourage any applicants with these skills or interests to inquire about this position.
This position is full-time, but we are also accepting part-time applicants if it’s a good fit.
We believe in hiring for the right fit and building a team that works well together to provide gold standard care to our patients. We push for these standards while also providing that “small town” environment where clients feel like family and can make themselves at home. We focus not just on our patient care, but our relationships with all of our clients.
Skills should include, but are not limited to the following:
Current licensure as a Veterinarian in the state of Nevada
2+ years experience in practice
Able to perform routine surgeries such as spay, neuter, mass removal, dentistry and dental extractions
Communicate directly with clientele in a professional and friendly manner both in exam rooms and over the phone to discuss complicated lab results and treatment plans
Familiarize oneself with our software and be able to utilize our EMR software and our online client chat service efficiently
Certification of holistic modalities/experience with exotics species is a plus!
Benefits are based on average wages and level of experience, but are negotiable:
Health, dental and vision insurance
Generous PTO with some days available during first year of employment
Competitive CE stipend
Full licensure allowance
NV State License Renewal
NV Pharmacy Board Dues
AVMA Membership Dues
AHVMA Membership Dues
There is a VIN account provided by the employer, so this will not be covered if the employee should want their own.
DEA dues can be negotiated during 2nd year of employment
Pet care discounts
Schedule is negotiable, but would include a “4, 10s” type schedule initially Monday-Friday with the typical 3 appointment days, 1 surgery day per week 8am-5pm
Potential for 1-2 Saturdays per month, but when this occurs, benefits would be renegotiated as work-life balance is truly important, especially in this field
Starting salary is based on experience and can be discussed
Production bonuses are also an option
We want to hear from you. Send us your resume and thoughts through email and let’s get to know each other better. Please send everything to our practice owner Dr. Taormina.
