About the Role

D&M Development LLC is seeking a highly experienced Utility Site Superintendent / Project Manager

to oversee underground utility installations and mass grading operations for large-scale residential and

commercial projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical knowledge and

proven ability to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

 

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily field operations for underground utilities, stormwater systems, sewer, water, and mass

grading projects.

- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and inspectors to ensure compliance

with design, schedule, and safety standards.

- Provide on-site leadership and direction to crews, ensuring productivity, quality, and safety.

- Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts, identifying issues and resolving them

proactively.

- Monitor project costs, schedules, and manpower needs, reporting progress regularly to senior

management.

- Ensure compliance with local codes, OSHA safety requirements, and environmental regulations.

- Maintain detailed project documentation including daily reports, schedules, and change orders.

- Build strong relationships with clients, city inspectors, and utility providers.

 

Qualifications

- 10+ years of proven experience managing underground utilities and large-scale mass grading projects.

- Strong knowledge of earthwork, pipe installation, and utility infrastructure.

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, grading plans, and civil designs.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Proficient in construction scheduling software, MS Office, and project management tools.

- Valid driver’s license; ability to work full-time on site within 3 miles of downtown Nashville.
