Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our growing team in New Hyde Park, NY!

Under the general supervision of the Accounts Payables Team Lead, the Accounts Payables Associate is responsible for ensuring accuracy when processing insurance payables.

How You Will Contribute:

  • ( Process and review invoices for accuracy and proper approval.

  • Enter and upload vendor invoices into the accounting system.

  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.

  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.

  • Reconcile Surplus Lines Taxes NY, NJ, PA, and others.

  • Assist with month-end closing and reporting.

  • Maintain vendor files and documentation.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

  • Minimum education required is a High School Diploma or GED.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in insurance or accounting related discipline. (preferred)

  • Experience with accounting and/or agency management systems. ( preferred )

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy .

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills .

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar position

Pay Range

$27.00 - $27.00 Hourly

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
