Driver Dispatch Manager

Responsibilities:

• Apply logistics and transportation principles related to the efficient movement of goods, balancing operational costs and benefits
• Deliver high-quality customer service by assessing client needs, meeting service standards, and monitoring satisfaction levels
• Coordinate closely with drivers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
• Schedule and arrange routine equipment maintenance as required
• Manage operating costs and profitability within established budget guidelines
• Track driver hours and mileage in collaboration with Load Planners to optimize productivity
• Support and contribute to cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives
• Monitor performance related to driver incidents, equipment issues, breakdowns, and other service interruptions
• Maintain service performance metrics that meet company standards, including a 99% on-time delivery rate
• Ensure drivers comply with all safety regulations and that training programs are effective and up to date
• Verify that dispatch operations align with both customer requirements and company policies
• Demonstrate proficiency with administrative systems, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Microsoft Office applications, and satellite tracking and communication tools
• Communicate daily with drivers regarding assignments and operational updates
• Dispatch drivers for past, current, and upcoming deliveries
• Accurately update and maintain TMS orders in a timely manner
• Provide reliable estimated times of arrival (ETAs) for pickups and deliveries
• Track and trace shipments to ensure visibility and customer satisfaction

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Must have previous experience managing Drivers.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the transportation and supply chain industry.
• Must have experience/familiar with containerized freight out of the Port of Houston
• Degree in business or related field preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, TMS systems.
• Knowledge of CDL, DOT, and HOS standards.
• Fully knowledgeable on federal, state, and local transportation and intermodal regulations.
