Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds, roofs, and equipment to identify wear, damage, or safety concerns.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including painting, patching, lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and minor electrical work.
- Assist with maintenance of warehouse equipment such as shrink wrap machines and racking systems.
- Coordinate and oversee external vendors for services including landscaping, window cleaning, pest control, and janitorial work.
- Maintain cleanliness of both interior and exterior office and warehouse spaces.
- Perform or supervise daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning activities, including deep cleaning.
- Power wash walkways, parking lots, and building exteriors as needed.
- Oversee annual parking lot and dock line striping.
- Remove debris, trash, leaves, and cobwebs to ensure a clean, safe, and pest-free environment.
- Perform and document routine facility inspections on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local and state building codes and safety regulations, including OSHA and DOT standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, vendor services, and facility work orders.
- Coordinate preparation and response efforts for severe weather, including pre- and post-storm inspections, snow removal, salting, and leak repairs.
- Remain available for after-hours and emergency maintenance situations as needed.
- Maintain inventory and operational readiness of all maintenance tools and equipment, including scrubbers, sweepers, ladders, and hand tools.
- Ensure all tools and machinery are clean, safe, and in proper working conditions.
- Act as the on-site lead for vendor projects, including repairs, installations, and construction-related activities.
- Support facility setup and breakdown for corporate events.
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs on Class A trucks, including brakes, electrical systems, suspension, and engine components.
- Complete routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
- Manage inventory of tools and parts effectively.
- Accurately document all maintenance and repair work in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Technical Experience:
- Strong working knowledge of commercial facility maintenance and building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Proven experience in diesel truck maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
- Certifications & Education:
- Class A Diesel Mechanic Certification (or equivalent experience).
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred.
- ASE, OEM training, or 608/609 HVAC certifications are a plus.
- Skills & Physical Requirements:
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, hand/power tools, and shop equipment.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in physically demanding environments.
- Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions and during off-hours as needed.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to prioritize tasks independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Class A CDL (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and local safety compliance standards.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for tracking repairs.
