Join our team as an experienced Mammography Technologist for a travel assignment in Barnstable, MA. In this role, you will perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations, stereotactic procedures, and DEXA bone density scans to assist clinicians in detecting and managing breast disease. You will ensure MQSA and ACR compliance, complete required quality control, and provide patient-centered care throughout imaging encounters.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and Mammography (M).
• Current and active Massachusetts state license for Radiology and Mammography as required by state and federal agencies.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical mammography experience, including screening and diagnostic mammography.
• Demonstrated current experience performing Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D) and Full-Field Digital Mammography (2D) with documentation of required didactic/clinical training (at least 8 hours didactic/clinical training in each modality as required by MQSA standards).
• Experience performing stereotactic procedures and DEXA (bone density) exams including spine, hip, and forearm.
• Proven ability to perform and document MQSA/ACR quality control procedures and daily/weekly QA tasks.
• Certification or training in PACS operations, image archiving, and basic data management for radiology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification current.
• Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited radiography program.
• Strong patient communication skills and the ability to assess patient history and coordinate with radiologists and advanced practice providers as needed.
• Preferred: ARRT Bone Density Operator certification.

Assignment Details:

• Facility type: Outpatient imaging center.
• Shift: Days.
• Shift hours: 0800-1600.
• Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week (Days 0800-1600).
• Duration: 13 week travel assignment.
• Responsibilities include performing screening and diagnostic mammography, stereotactic procedures, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (3D), full-field digital mammography (2D), DEXA scans, QC documentation, PACS processing, and coordination with radiology staff.

Standard Job Description:

Perform mammographic exams and procedures as requested by physicians to detect breast abnormalities. Ensure diagnostic mammographic and stereotactic equipment is operable and compliant with MQSA. Prepare exam rooms, review requisitions and prior reports/images, consult with radiologists as needed, and provide patient education regarding screening versus diagnostic processes. Collect accurate patient history and refer symptomatic patients to providers per protocol. Provide patient-centered care and ensure comfort and safety during procedures. Operate mammography equipment, set exposure factors, evaluate image technical quality, and maintain accurate radiology records. Perform DEXA examinations as indicated and maintain quality control documentation. Manage PACS operations including image transfer and archiving. Maintain continuing education to meet ARRT and state requirements. Complete other duties as assigned.
