Position Summary
The Night Shift Forklift Operator role is responsible for safely operating forklifts to move, locate, stack, and track inventory in a food safe manner. This position also accurately updates inventory data within the NetSuite system according to company policies and procedures. The Night Shift Forklift Operator is responsible for warehouse
cleanliness and sanitation schedules and procedures. The night shift is 6:00pm-4:00 am.
Job duties and responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, or pallet jack) safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials
- Accurately pick, load WIP and reconcile WIP using RF scanners and NetSuite
- Keep line stocked with all materials needed
- Update inventory transactions, transfers, and adjustments in NetSuite
- Verify product quantities, labels, and locations to ensure accuracy
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food safe warehouse environment
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Report damaged goods, equipment issues, or discrepancies promptly
- Execute sanitation in warehouse, loading dock, freezer and cooler.
- Place and release items on hold in conjunction with QA
- Load outbound finished goods and unload inbound ingredients following all Standard Operating Policy and Procedures
- Maintain, spot check, and document quality assurance items such as temperature of trucks and dock
- Ensure loads are secure
- Perform daily equipment checks and maintenance such as charging batteries
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Quality and Food Safety requirements
- Understand the importance of lot tracking, documentation, and FIFO/FEFO inventory practices
- Comply with all USDA, FDA, and ODA regulations
- Understand and perform all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- Report all Food Safety concerns immediately to your Team Leader
- Follow all safety guidelines including, but not limited to, Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO), Hazard Communication (HazCom) chemical handling, confined spaces, and proper use of PPE
- Always maintain a safe and food-compliant working environment
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
- Experience with RF scanners and barcode systems
- Prior experience in shipping/receiving or logistics
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to meet productivity and accuracy standards
- Prior experience in food manufacturing
- Valid forklift certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting
- Experience with NetSuite ERP system a plus
- Basic computer skills. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand and walk on concrete for up to 12 hours.
- Able to lift 35 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Body agility is emphasized, including ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- Able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 degrees to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period.
- Able to perform repetitive tasks for up to 12 hours with constant hand and wrist movement
