Position Summary
Provides direct patient care within the operating room, acting as the patients advocate, maintaining a safe and sterile environment. Supports the surgical team by monitoring patient safety before during and after surgery and documentation. May assist to scrub when needed. The registered nurse is responsible to take weekend call (approximately every 4-5th weekend) and during the week (includes the weekend call).

Director of Surgical Services
Patient Populations Served:
Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.
Protected Health Information Accessed:
Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record.
Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
What we're looking for
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
- Associate's degree in nursing required, bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- BCLS required
ACLS and PALS (required, must acquire within 90 days of hire)
