Radiation Therapist - Travel Job

What You'll Need:

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program

• AART Certification in Radiation Therapy

• Valid Ohio Radiation Therapy license

• BLS certification

• Minimum 1 year of clinical radiation therapy experience

• Experience with CT/Sim, conventional simulation, and treatment delivery workflows

• Competency in treatment planning verification, portal imaging, and basic dose calculations

• Ability to document QA activities and maintain treatment records in an electronic medical record

• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary oncology team

• Ohio Radiology/Radiation Therapy state license required.

• AART certification required.

• BLS required.

• Minimum 1 year oncology/radiation therapy experience required.

• Elekta linear accelerator experience preferred.

• HDR brachytherapy experience preferred.

Assignment Details

• Facility type: Hospital (Cancer Center outpatient setting)
• Shift: Days
• Typical shift hours: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, Monday-Friday
• Occasional morning QA shifts: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
• No weekends. No on-call or weekend requirements for the core schedule.
• Travel assignment duration: 13-week contract
• Position will accept local candidates (local fee may apply)

Additional Duties:

• Localize tumors, participate in treatment planning, and deliver prescribed radiation treatments.

• Verify patient setup and treatment console settings prior to delivery.

• Perform CT/Sim, take portal films, review portal images, and initiate necessary changes.

• Review patient treatment records and doses daily to ensure adherence to prescribed limits.

• Document diagnostic, treatment and QA data in the appropriate record systems.

• Assist with diagnostic CT and mold room procedures as requested.

• Report equipment issues and participate in routine QA and maintenance documentation.

• Provide patient education on skin care, diet, and self-care related to treatment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Elekta LINAC experience preferred.

• HDR brachytherapy experience preferred.

• Experience with IMPAC and PortalVision/Viewstation preferred.

Summary

The radiation therapist administers radiation treatments and collaborates with radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, nurses and support staff to plan and deliver care. The role requires attention to safety, documentation, and patient-centered communication. Demonstrated competency in clinical procedures, QA, and recordkeeping is required. You will be expected to maintain credentials and participate in educational activities relevant to clinical practice.
