Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist administers therapeutic gases, ventilator support, and a variety of respiratory treatments and critical interventions. Responsibilities include performing procedures such as chest physiotherapy, intubation, arterial line insertions, Mini-BALS, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

This role provides comprehensive patient assessments, monitors patient response to therapy, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality patient care. The Respiratory Therapist documents clinical data and communicates patient status to ensure appropriate treatment and continuity of care.

Requirements
  • Basic professional knowledge typically obtained through a Bachelors degree in a related field; Associates degree in Respiratory Care required

  • 13 years of respiratory therapy experience preferred

  • Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Licensure required

  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required within 1 year of hire

  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Certification required

  • ACLS and PALS certifications required within 1 year of hire
