Job Description
Are you ready to apply your expertise as a Cath Lab Technologist in Tyler, TX. Join a hospital-based catheterization laboratory team and support diagnostic and interventional cardiac and electrophysiology procedures. Operate advanced imaging equipment, assist physicians and staff, document hemodynamic data, and maintain patient safety and sterile technique throughout procedures.
Minimum Requirements- Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, associate degree in a healthcare-related field, or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Licensure: Texas state licensure as MRT or LMRT by the Texas Medical Board required when applicable based on modality.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) by AHA required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by AHA required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) by AHA required to independently work in pediatric facilities.
- Clinical Experience: Experience in cardiac catheterization laboratories required. Electrophysiology (EP) experience is required by the client. Acute care experience preferred.
- Preferred Certifications: One or more of the following preferred: RCIS (CCI), RCES (CCI), RCS (CCI), Radiography (R) by ARRT, Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) by ARRT, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) by ARRT, Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT, RDMS credentials (AB, OB/GYN), RDCS (AE), or RVT by ARDMS. Candidates with lapsed ARRT prior to June 1, 2023 may qualify under LSRTBE exemption criteria.
- Skills: Proficiency with fluoro imaging, digital image acquisition, hemodynamic monitoring systems, contrast injectors, and adjunct cath lab devices (IVUS, ICE, IABP, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, LVAD support) preferred. Competency in sterile technique and radiation safety required.
- Other: Must obtain and maintain required facility certifications and credentials per employer policy within designated time frames.

Position Summary and Responsibilities- Prepare catheterization lab rooms, ensure equipment functionality, and stock necessary supplies before procedures.
- Operate imaging systems and perform fluoro imaging and digital image acquisition as directed by physicians.
- Document patient information, hemodynamic measurements, and procedure details in cath lab information systems.
- Provide direct procedural support while scrubbing for cases, anticipate physician needs, and assist with patient positioning and access site management.
- Serve as the radiation safety representative during X-ray use and adhere to aseptic technique and infection control practices at all times.
- Participate in competency training for specialized cath lab equipment and technologies including IVUS, ICE, contrast injectors, hemodynamic systems, and mechanical circulatory support devices.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to promote patient safety, departmental efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives.
