Optician

Smoke Vision Care is in search of an Optician to join their legendary team of dedicated eyecare professionals. An Optician's primary responsibility is the selection, fitting and dispensing of eyeglasses that are appropriate for the patient's prescription and visual needs insuring the patient sees and looks their very best.

The ideal candidate should possess a friendly, professional, outgoing, enthusiastic attitude. This new team member must be reliable, enjoy serving others and have a longing to be the best and work for the best.

Our office is a fast paced, energizing environment that requires multi-tasking ability. A positive attitude, self-motivation, a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing health care environment is needed for success.

Experience as an Optician is preferred but we are willing to train exceptional candidates who are able and eager to devote time to the rigorous but rewarding education process necessary to obtain the knowledge to properly care for our patients. This position is ideally suited for a cross-over applicant with background in sales who may be looking for a new, exciting career that blends serving others in a health care environment with sales skills. Detail-oriented technical aptitude is a trait suited to the profession.

All candidates must be willing to work one evening until 7:00 pm EST and up to two Saturdays per month from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
• One year Optician experience preferred.
• Medical office experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines):

• Physical Activity: Standing, Walking, Stooping, Grasping, Typing, and Manual dexterity. The worker is required to have visual and verbal acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 pounds from waist to shoulder, and 5 pounds from shoulder to overhead.

• Work Environment: Professional medical office environment.
