Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage. The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organizations vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.Prepares critically ill neonates for procedures such as central line placement or intubation. Monitors vital signs and responses during interventions and assists with post-procedure stabilization and recovery.
Observes neonates and equipment (e.g., ventilators, monitors) during care. Reports changes in condition, and documents clinical status and interventions accurately.
Maintains and operates specialized NICU equipment including incubators, ventilators, and infusion pumps. Ensures proper disinfection and setup of procedure areas in accordance with infection control protocols.
Continuously monitors critically ill neonates for early signs of deterioration, including changes in respiratory, cardiac, and neurological status. Responds rapidly to emergencies using NRP protocols. Collaborates with the care team and ensures thorough documentation and post-event debriefing.
Prepares families for neonatal discharge by providing education on home care needs, medication administration, feeding plans, and follow-up appointments. Ensures caregivers demonstrate competency in care routines. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to support a safe transition.
What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BSN strongly preferred.
Specialty certification strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 9 months of nursing experience.
