Position Overview
CSI is seeking reliable, detailoriented individuals to support the production of our GD Smoke Tube Assemblies. This role is handson, safetycritical, and essential to manufacturing products used by military and lawenforcement agencies worldwide. Operators will load smoke composition, run automated powderloading equipment, and assemble finished smoke tubes following strict safety and quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Load Smoke Composition into the automated silo system following established procedures.
- Operate equipment including palmbutton controls, wriststrap grounding points, and powderdrop mechanisms.
- Weigh tubes to ensure loaded mass meets specification.
- Identify and segregate outofspec parts using red caps and reject trays.
- Install spacers, clean threads, and apply epoxy to smoke tube caps.
- Perform taping operations ensuring a sealed joint with no uplifted paths.
- Stage and pack completed assemblies into inner packs.
- Follow all explosivehandling and ESDcontrol requirements, including grounding checks and PPE usage.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and work areas throughout the shift.
- Follow emergency procedures for fire, injury, or chemical spill as outlined in building protocols.
- Ensure all materials are labeled, stored, and disposed of according to safety standards.
- Verify environmental conditions before operating equipment.
- Perform startup, normal operation, and shutdown steps for the powderloading station.
- Report equipment issues, powderflow irregularities, or sensor warnings to supervision immediately.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow detailed written procedures and safety protocols.
- Comfortable working with machinery and precision measurements.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Must pass required safety training and ESDcompliance checks.
- Ability to pass drug test and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior manufacturing, assembly, or machineoperation experience.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in repetitive processes.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Requires use of PPE including FR lab coat, safety glasses, gloves, conductive footwear, and wriststat.
- Exposure to powders, epoxy, and cleaning solvents within controlled limits.
