This role requires strong real estate finance fundamentals, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external developer partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced, detaildriven environment and contributes to the organizations mission of expanding affordable housing through effective and responsible underwriting. Key Responsibilities: Underwrite LIHTC and affordable housing transactions, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and guarantor review. Own and maintain financial models from initial underwriting through closing. Prepare investment memos outlining risks, mitigants, deal structure, and key assumptions. Coordinate due diligence collection, review materials, and track progress to ensure timely closings. Participate in closing calls, maintain the closing timeline, and manage communication across stakeholders. Identify, evaluate, and escalate risks appropriately during the underwriting and closing process. Transition completed deals to Construction and Asset Management teams. Work closely with originators and developer partners to ensure underwriting guidelines are met. Coordinate communications across multiple internal departments. Support continuous improvement of underwriting standards and workflows. Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in real estate finance, lending, affordable housing, or LIHTC underwriting. Proficiency in financial modeling, risk analysis, and Excel. Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field.
