Job Description

Company Description

SportsDataIO was founded in 2008 as FantasyData LLC while offering NFL data feeds to the fantasy sports industry. Throughout our first decade, we expanded our coverage for all major North American sports and international soccer leagues, with a content offering that provides data, news, and images to a wide range of industries, including gaming, fantasy, publishing, broadcasting, leagues & teams.

More recently, with the repeal of PASPA, we rebranded to SportsDataIO and replicated our previous mission of providing industry-specific fantasy feeds to the gaming industry by building an industry-leading odds product along with a suite of widgets to complement our API as a delivery method. Headquartered in Philadelphia, PA and with data operations in Phoenix, AZ, SportsDataIO currently services more than 200 clients ranging from startups to enterprise organizations.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team. In this fully remote, full-time role, you will be at the forefront of SportsDataIO’s growth, identifying and engaging prospective clients across the sports data, gaming, fantasy, and media industries. As a BDR, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our future customers, playing a critical role in building our sales pipeline and driving revenue. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about sports, technology, and sales, and who wants to grow their career in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Research and qualify prospects to determine fit, identifying key decision-makers and tailoring outreach by company segment and persona.
  • Manage and follow up with free trial sign-ups, converting qualified leads into active opportunities.
  • Maintain CRM cleanliness in Copper by accurately logging all activity, updating account records, merging duplicates, and managing account ownership.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align outreach with campaigns, messaging, and product positioning.
  • Meet and exceed monthly targets for qualified meetings and Sales Accepted Opportunities (SAOs).
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and the sports data/API landscape to effectively communicate SportsDataIO’s value proposition.
  • Develop outreach templates and email sequences tailored to specific industry segments and prospect profiles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).[jm1]
  • 1+ year of full-time BDR, SDR, or relevant sales experience.
  • 1+ year of experience working with a CRM platform; experience with Copper is a plus.
  • 1+ year of experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools.[jm2]
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport quickly.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently in a fully remote environment.
  • Passion for sports with an understanding of the sports data, gaming, or media industry is highly preferred.
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting, inbound qualification, and managing a high volume of activity.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
