Job Description


Mechanical Design Engineer

Qualifications & Experience Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an industrial/commercial engineering environment
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and rapid prototyping
  • Strong CAD proficiency
Preferred:
  • Background in UAV/drone applications or air drop system interfaces
  • Experience in defense or military equipment sectors
  • Knowledge of textile integration and load-carriage systems

Key Responsibilities Design & Prototyping:
  • Design and develop small hardware components for military tactical clothing and load carriage systems
  • Create and iterate rapid prototypes to validate design concepts
  • Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on testing feedback

Workshop Establishment:
  • Lead the setup and commissioning of a new machine workshop
  • Select, procure, and install appropriate machining equipment
  • Develop workshop operational procedures and safety protocols

Product Qualification & Certification:
  • Support product qualification and certification processes to relevant military and industry standards
  • Prepare technical documentation for certification submissions
  • Collaborate with testing facilities and certification bodies
  • Perform systems engineering functions including requirements analysis, integration, and verification

General:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development, New Product Development, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance
  • Maintain accurate design documentation and engineering records
  • Ensure designs meet performance, durability, and safety requirements

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Hands-on approach with practical machining and prototyping skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
  • Knowledge of materials selection hardware applications
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder engagement
