A community mental health client is seeking a psychiatric nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage. The facility provides comprehensive psychiatric services with dedicated resources for outpatient treatment and maintains modern documentation systems to ensure effective care delivery.

The psychiatric nurse practitioner will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management for adult patients in a community mental health setting. Clinical duties include seeing 6-7 patients per day with visits typically lasting 20-30 minutes for established patients and up to one hour for new patients. The clinician will work part-time for 24 hours per week during day shifts with no call requirements, participating in daily in-person morning treatment team meetings on scheduled workdays. Each patient is seen by the team a minimum of four times per month, often more when clinically appropriate, requiring detailed documentation and coordinated care delivery.
