Essential Duties and Responsibilities Kitting of work orders and delivering them to production. Processing 'blue light' orders. Solving inventory issues. Assisting shipping and receiving with unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing to sales associates for processing. Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped. Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas. Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences (e.g., size, type, style, color, or product code). Filing requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributing items to shipping or designated route driver storage areas. Assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department. Assisting in year-round physical inventory counting. Assisting with inventory management in all locations. Ensuring the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic. Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate methods. Opening bales, crates, and other containers. Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program. Weighing and counting items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards. May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed. Completing requisition forms to order supplies from other departments. Preparing parcels for mailing. Organizing the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times. Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and equipment and following prescribed regulations. Interacting professionally and effectively with a diverse group of employees and customers. Learning and practicing standard operating procedures. Maintaining prompt and regular attendance based on the work hours established by management. Handling confidential information with tact and discretion. Performing other duties as assigned. Highlighted Requirements Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours a day. Experience driving a forklift (though this is not primarily a forklift operation job). Exceptional attention to detail. Good phone etiquette. General fluency in English, both verbal and written. Ability to handle small parts. Good math skills, including counting, addition, and subtraction. Ability to file in numerical and alphabetical sequence. Basic computer skills. Ability to troubleshoot problems and strong problem-solving skills. Must be dependable with a good attendance record and work ethic. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
