Maintenance Aide II

LAKE CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY IS HIRING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITION:

Job Title: Maintenance Aide II

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

-Under limited supervision, perform general to advanced maintenance and repairs of the Lake City Housing Authority’s Housing units.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

-Perform general to advanced carpentry work, including installing/repairing windows

-Perform light electrical work

-Cleaning of sewage lines, replacing of screens, painting, repairing roofs, etc.

-Communicates with the tenant and sub-contractors in the performance of job activities

-Operates power tools, mechanic’s tools, etc.

-Performs preventative maintenance

-Perform general to advanced plumbing and home repairs

-Discern the difference between normal wear and tear and neglect or intentional damages

-Assist occupancy staff with unit inspections and/or Contracted Professionals

Non-Essential Functions:

-All other maintenance duties as needed

-Storm clean up as needed

-On-call 24 hours a day 7 days a week Rotation

Required Skill/Certifications/Education:

-Ability to use power tools and equipment

-Valid SC Driver’s License w/acceptable driving record

-Ability to drive and operate various vehicles

-Thorough knowledge of repairing and maintaining electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry and basic HVAC knowledge

-High School Diploma with 5-9 years’ experience or equivalent combination of training and experience is required

Physical requirements:

-Work is both indoors and outdoors

-Heavy work lifting 50 lbs. or more frequently and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

-Frequently stand, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull and climb both stairs and ladders.
