Position Charter
The Buyer is responsible for the procurement cycle including; forecasting material demands; issuing quotations to suppliers; procuring materials from suppliers; resolving receipt and invoice discrepancies; and general supplier management activities.

Buyer reports to the Procurement Manager
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Utilize MRP, replenishment signals and/or forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.
Manage inventory stocking levels to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.
Manage Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, including resolving blocked invoices, discrepancies and identifying when expedited shipments are needed.
Provide forecasts to suppliers on a recurring and regular basis.
Assist with selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.
Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships to mitigate risk in the supply chain.
Work closely with the Commodity/Purchasing Managers to mature the supply chain
Assist with the selection and qualification of new suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.
Support management in the completion of supplier audits and scorecards.
Ensure suppliers adhere to the requirements defined by Tosoh’s Supplier Expectations.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement or Supply Chain Management preferred.
3 + years purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.
Procurement experience in manufacturing beneficial.
Skills and Qualifications
Good computer skills required.
Experience with managing multiple priorities required.
Knowledge of MRP is a plus.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.
APICS certification beneficial
Ability and willingness to travel domestically <10%.>
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for extended periods.
Must be able to walk and stand for brief periods.
