Responsibilities
- Perform tasks related to materials selection and corrosion testing and analysis, including experimental setup, data collection, and data reporting.
- Inspect, test, repair, and install equipment as needed.
- Develop the capability to work independently on project activities under the supervision of a project investigator.
- Assist more experienced technicians, technologists, and professionals with technical assignments.
- Adhere to the Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Assurance program for projects.
- Record research activities in a lab book.
- Set up and run laboratory experiments and analyze test specimens.
- Prepare solutions, clean test cells, move items throughout the lab, and calibrate equipment following prescribed procedures.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and utilize tools.
- Experience in inventory, materials, and parts management.
- Hydraulics testing experience is preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge or experience in chemistry is advantageous.
- Experience in chemical engineering and chemical testing is beneficial.
You will work in a mechanical lab setting daily, with a desk in the office alongside other lab technicians. The standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. This position operates on the first shift. Initially, the contract to hire duration is 6 months, with the potential to convert to a direct position. The lab supports many business units, and it is involved in innovative projects related to renewables, hydrogen testing, and CO2 capture/transfer/storage testing.
