Our client is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations and support continued expansion through acquisitions. This role will oversee a small accounting team, manage core financial reporting and close processes, and partner closely with executive leadership to strengthen internal controls and financial infrastructure.

The Controller will play a key role in integrating newly acquired businesses, ensuring financial systems, reporting, and accounting processes are aligned across entities. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the accounting team, overseeing daily operations across general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the monthly close process and deliver accurate financial reporting packages for leadership.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and oversee multi-entity and multi-location consolidations.
  • Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Support the financial integration of acquired companies, including aligning accounting processes, systems, and historical financial data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth onboarding and financial visibility of newly acquired entities.
  • Strengthen and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures to support scalable growth.
  • Lead preparation for annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Partner with leadership to improve cash management practices and financial processes.
  • Assist with ERP and financial system enhancements or implementations to improve reporting efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve financial visibility across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and multi-entity accounting environments.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including post-acquisition financial integration.
  • Background working within growth-oriented or acquisition-driven organizations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and system implementations preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
