Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our growing team in Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Chicago, IL or Denver, CO !
This role emphasizes advanced modeling, visualization excellence, and performance optimization, enabling actionable insights across multiple business units. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into intuitive, impactful dashboards and reports, leveraging best practices in BI development and data storytelling.
How You Will Contribute:
Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and paginated reports.
Develop and optimize data models (semantic models) using best practices for performance and governance.
Create reusable DAX measures, calculations, and KPIs aligned with business definitions.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate needs into analytics solutions, and validate results.
Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) and access permissions across workspaces and reports.
Ensure reports adhere to organizational data governance, branding, accessibility, and UX standards.
Optimize performance through query reduction, model tuning, and efficient data transformations.
Work with Data Engineering to integrate new data sources, validate pipelines, and improve data quality.
Create mock-up visualizations over temporary datasets to help visualize the end state reports, intended for executive audiences
Build and maintain Power BI templates, themes, and standardized report layouts.
Troubleshoot issues related to refresh failures, report functionality, and data integrity.
Monitor report usage metrics to identify adoption trends, enhancement opportunities, and training needs.
Contribute to the development of documentation, data dictionaries, and measurement standards.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Bachelor's degree required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, IT/IS, Mathematics, Business Analytics degree Preferred
Three to five years' experience in a similar position
Experience in Insurance is a plus
Agile or Scrum experience a plus
Strong proficiency in PowerBI and related Microsoft stack, DAX
Advanced skills in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling)
Ability to work in-office 2 days a week
