Plano Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to help build and lead a growing companion animal hospital in Plano, Texas.
This is a unique opportunity to join a newly developing hospital and play a key role in shaping the team, culture, and operational systems from the ground up. Working closely with the Medical Director, the Practice Manager will lead hospital operations, develop the team, and drive practice growth while creating an exceptional experience for both clients and staff.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys building systems, developing people, and thinking proactively about how to make a hospital run better, smarter, and more efficiently.
What You Will Own Team Leadership & CultureRecruit, hire, and onboard CSR and technician team members Coach and develop staff through training, feedback, and mentorship Establish a positive team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and growth Lead regular team meetings and support professional development Create clear expectations for service standards and patient care support
Hospital OperationsBuild and refine workflows to support an efficient and high-quality client experience Partner with the Medical Director to support patient flow and clinical operations Manage daily staffing schedules and operational priorities Address client concerns and lead service recovery when needed Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and hospital performance
Practice Growth & Financial ManagementMonitor key hospital metrics including revenue, payroll percentage, inventory, and average transaction charge Review monthly financial performance and develop action plans to support growth Support marketing initiatives and community outreach efforts to build the client base Develop systems that allow the hospital to scale as the practice grows
Compliance & Facility OversightMaintain OSHA and regulatory compliance standards Coordinate facility maintenance, equipment needs, and vendor relationships Ensure medical record protocols and hospital standards are maintained
Required Experience2–5 years of experience in a veterinary hospital environment Previous leadership, supervisory, or team management experience Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment Comfort working closely with veterinarians and technical staff
Preferred QualificationsCertified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) Experience in hospital start-ups, rapid growth environments, or operational improvements Experience reviewing financial metrics such as P&L, payroll, and inventory performance Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field is helpful but not required
Compensation & BenefitsSalary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually, depending on experience
