This opportunity is based in Columbus, OH, and offers a chance to work with patients managing chronic, advanced disease states who require specialized medication consultations. This pharmacy specializes in serving patients with complex medication regimens, often taking 8-15 medications daily. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and patient consultation skills, as well as compassion and patience to effectively support a Medicare/Medicaid patient population often facing literacy challenges. The focus here is quality patient care and personalized consultation rather than high-volume dispensing. Responsibilities: Provide expert pharmaceutical care and consultation to patients with chronic, complex conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis. Accurately dispense medications with attention to complex dosage regimens. Use Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and patient records. Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication therapies. Educate patients and caregivers with compassion and clarity to ensure understanding and adherence. Qualifications: Valid Ohio pharmacist license. Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience. Demonstrated skills in chronic disease state management and patient consultations. Experience with complex medication regimens is highly preferred. Familiarity with Pioneer Rx software is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach. Schedule: Per diem, as needed to provide coverage mainly during spring and summer periods.
