Driver Program Assistant – Adult Day Location: Canas Adult Day Center, Springfield, MA Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: $19/hour
Would you like to work in a rewarding environment with a supportive team? At Canas Adult Day Center in Springfield, MA , you’ll make a real difference by providing compassionate care and safe transportation to the individuals we serve in our community-based Day Program.
What You’ll DoProvide safe, reliable transportation between participants’ homes, day centers, agency programs, outings, and appointments.
Offer safety assistance when boarding and exiting vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness and conduct daily vehicle checks.
Support staff in monitoring participants at the day center, helping with activities, meals, and personal care needs.
Provide assistance with daily living, including personal hygiene and bathroom support.
High school diploma (or equivalent) and 21 years of age or older .
Prior van driving experience preferred.
At least 1 year of experience transporting older adults or individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred.
At least 1 year of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, ideally older adults.
Valid U.S. driver’s license with at least 1 year of driving history.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Reliable, responsible, and compassionate approach to care.
