About the Role

As a Lifeguard at Merryhill School, you will help maintain a safe and enjoyable pool environment for students participating in our summer camp program. You will provide active supervision during swim activities, enforce pool safety guidelines, and support a positive experience for campers and staff throughout the summer.

You will also:

• Maintain constant visual supervision of swimmers in and around the pool

• Ensure campers follow established pool safety rules and procedures

• Remain stationed along the pool deck to actively monitor the pool area

• Coordinate with camp counselors to ensure campers safely arrive to and depart from the pool area

• Supervise scheduled swim times and support swim instruction when needed

• Lock and secure the pool area when a lifeguard is not present

• Monitor pool conditions and report any safety concerns

• Conduct routine checks of pool chemicals and document daily inspections

• Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and remove debris from the pool

• Serve as a positive role model and maintain a professional presence with campers, staff, and families

What Were Looking For

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Current Lifeguard certification required

• CPR and First Aid certification required

• Prior lifeguard experience preferred

• Strong attention to safety and situational awareness

• Ability to remain attentive and focused during extended supervision periods

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children
