About the Role
As a Lifeguard at Merryhill School, you will help maintain a safe and enjoyable pool environment for students participating in our summer camp program. You will provide active supervision during swim activities, enforce pool safety guidelines, and support a positive experience for campers and staff throughout the summer.
You will also:
Maintain constant visual supervision of swimmers in and around the pool
Ensure campers follow established pool safety rules and procedures
Remain stationed along the pool deck to actively monitor the pool area
Coordinate with camp counselors to ensure campers safely arrive to and depart from the pool area
Supervise scheduled swim times and support swim instruction when needed
Lock and secure the pool area when a lifeguard is not present
Monitor pool conditions and report any safety concerns
Conduct routine checks of pool chemicals and document daily inspections
Maintain cleanliness of the pool area and remove debris from the pool
Serve as a positive role model and maintain a professional presence with campers, staff, and families
What Were Looking For
Must be 18 years of age or older
Current Lifeguard certification required
CPR and First Aid certification required
Prior lifeguard experience preferred
Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
Ability to remain attentive and focused during extended supervision periods
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Positive attitude and enthusiasm for working with children
