Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final product quality inspections to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Issue Release to Service certification documentation when applicable.
- Supervise and manage daily activities of the inspection department, ensuring quality procedures are followed.
- Act as a liaison between Quality and other departments to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Coordinate and support the work of inspectors and auditors, ensuring materials and work packages meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation of non-conformances, rejected materials, and scrap items.
- Provide technical support for quality control functions, including in-process, final, and receiving inspections.
- Support the Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining compliance with applicable regulations, including AS9100, FAA Part 21, and FAA Part 145, and assist with internal audits.
- Prepare, track, and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) reports, ensuring timely implementation by production teams.
- Coordinate bi-monthly corrosion resistance testing, including sample collection, documentation, submission to testing facilities, and result tracking.
- Assist with updates and revisions to quality documents and forms.
- Compile and submit monthly trend analysis reports and quality KPI metrics.
- Support customer and FAA audits and provide documentation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing or quality, preferably within an aerospace repair station or manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years of inspection experience, including the use of blueprints and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
- Experience in inspection and certification of production parts is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in quality or manufacturing is a plus.
- A&P License, FAA Repairman Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory compliance, including AS9100 and FAA regulations.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office; experience with MRP systems is a plus.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret instructions, technical documents, and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information to team members, customers, and management.
- Basic math skills, including multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals, particularly as they relate to blueprint reading and inspection requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Demonstrated leadership, training, and mentoring skills to guide and support inspectors.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependability.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally and perform tasks requiring sitting, standing, walking, and reaching.
- Must have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment necessary for inspection activities.
