Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee end-to-end payroll operations using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing.
  • Supervise payroll team members and provide guidance on payroll data management, including employee hours, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Oversee payroll account reconciliations and ensure alignment with the general ledger and overall financial records.
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; oversee preparation and submission of payroll tax filings and related reports.
  • Partner closely with Human Resources leadership to manage benefits-related payroll activities including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Develop and review payroll reports on compensation, payroll expenses, and workforce costs to support executive decision-making.
  • Lead payroll-related internal and external audits by ensuring proper documentation, controls, and reconciliation processes.
  • Evaluate and improve payroll systems, policies, and processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive payroll experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is required.
  • Extensive experience with payroll systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including journal entries, debits and credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks or similar financial tools; familiarity with HRIS platforms is an advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of payroll tax regulations, compliance requirements, and benefits-related payroll administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong data management and reporting capabilities.
