Job Summary and Qualifications

Nuclear Medical Technologist

Our imaging teams are a committed, caring group of professionals. We are seeking a Florida-licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will perform diagnostic and therapeutic technical procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and perform these procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, tasks and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Use radioactive isotopes to perform organ and body scans
  • Prepare, administer and record dosages of radioactive isotopes for administration to patients in accordance with physicians' orders
  • Perform diagnostic studies on patients using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film
  • Position patients and adjust immobilization devices
  • Compassionately explain procedures to patients and address any concerns
  • Monitor, record and communicate utilizing computerized documentation (MEDITECH)
  • May also assist with transporting patients as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Associate Degree Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program (AMA-approved institution)
  • Clear/Active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT)
  • Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of recent experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Current NMTCB or ARRT (NM) credential
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of specialty equipment tools: GAMMA cameras
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs.
