Position Overview

Trek Financial is seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Portfolio Trader to join our investment team. This role will work directly with the Portfolio Managers and CIO to execute trades across individual securities and firm models, manage trading workflows, and support portfolio implementation across client accounts.

As a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), we trade individual equities, ETFs, fixed income securities, and manage firm-wide models. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate execution, tax-efficient implementation, rebalancing discipline, and alignment with portfolio strategy.

This is a local in-office position based in Scottsdale, AZ.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Areas of Ownership

Execute equity, ETF, Mutual fund, and fixed income trades across client accounts

Implement and rebalance firm models across custodial platforms

Monitor trade allocations, block trading, and post-trade reconciliation

Ensure adherence to firm investment guidelines and IPS requirements

Maintain trade blotters and documentation for compliance oversight

Assist with tax-aware trading and gain/loss management

Coordinate with custodians and internal operations teams to resolve trade-related issues

Support portfolio transitions and new account onboarding

Technology & Systems

Utilize Orion Eclipse for trading, rebalancing, and model management (preferred experience)

Work within custodial trading platform (Schwab)

Assist in improving trading workflows and automation processes

Support reporting and portfolio analytics initiatives

Strategic Support

Collaborate with the Portfolio Managers and CIO on portfolio implementation strategy

Contribute to model enhancements and investment process improvements

Assist in maintaining trading best practices and operational efficiency

Support investment committee preparation and reporting

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

Bachelor's Degree (Finance, Economics, Business, or related field preferred)

Series 65 License (active and in good standing)

Minimum 2 years of trading experience (RIA, asset management firm, or broker-dealer)

Experience trading individual securities and managing model portfolios

Strong understanding of portfolio construction and rebalancing principles

High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Preferred:

Experience with Orion Eclipse

Experience in a fee-only RIA environment

Familiarity with performance reporting systems and portfolio analytics

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually

Compensation will be determined based on experience, technical proficiency, trading platform expertise, and overall fit within the investment team.

Trade accuracy and execution efficiency

Model implementation accuracy and timeliness

Operational KPIs and workflow improvements

Contribution to portfolio management and investment team initiatives
